The credit union was officially registered on August 8, 1968, and was affiliated with Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union Limited (CAMCCUL)

Registered Office
The office was originally located at a local primary school, and it was later moved to a larger space at 3 Corners Bambili due to membership growth.
2013
Reaffiliation
BamCCUL later disaffiliated from CAMCCUL and re-affiliated to Renaissance Cooperative Credit Unions in Cameroon (RECCU-CAM) on August 14, 2013 following disagreements and new regulations requiring category 1 microfinance institutions to belong to an umbrella organization
